Social services to assist the at-risk youths in cultural and educational activities, and building our community one step at a time with camps and lock-ins.

We have to earn it by building a relationship.
The Camps builds relationships with people they come into contact within society, may be caring, but they are not easy to sustain. Yet at-risk youth need relationships that are both caring and stable. They need to build a sense of trust and have the time to communicate the complexity, frustrations, and positive aspects of their lives in and out of school. Only after creating a strong relational base, will an adult have the platform to be a source of enduring and cherished advice to a student. Students will not confer trust to an adult based on his or her role as a counselor, psychologist, or social worker. We have to earn it by building a relationship.
This is a summer empowerment/enrichment program for at risk youths in low-income families, children from single-parent households, children in protected custody of Department of Family and Children Services, and/or teens emancipating out of protected service that are facing challenges or adversities. Workshops and programs will empower young girls and boys ages 6-18 years of age with knowledge that would provide strategies for successful achievement. This program is held one week in June and one week in July, four days, eight hours each day.
